Luca Casadio
Luca Casadio, psychologist and psychotherapist, worked as a managing psychologist for the USL. He teaches in several graduate schools and has published some books and numerous articles. Including: "Systemics: voices and paths in complexity", with Umberta Telfener and the supervision of Heinz von Foerster, Bollati Boringhieri, 2003, "Between Bateson and Bion, at the roots of relational thinking", Antigone editions, 2010. Regarding the relationship between art and psychology has published: "The images of the mind: for a psychoanalysis of cinema, art and literature" Franco Angeli, 2004, and "The art of psychotherapy and the psychology of art", Mimesis, 2015.
Abstract
In this issue, the video focuses on the big issue of Constructivism – presenting the main thinkers of the field.
Von Foerster postulates that each individual invents the world through his or her actions and endorses interaction by the social exchange between subjects inside the communities to which each individual belongs through the sharing of language.
This view leads to a particular attitude concerning knowledge that is consistent with the theories of complexity: no system of reference can be considered true and correct a priori; every observation (construction) is instead determined by the interpretive lens and linguistic choices of the subject (choices that define him or her as subject and determine the emergence of one world rather than another). This is the attitude characterising Constructivism (construo: I construct). Every observation is determined by the methodological stance, interpretive lens, aims, language, culture and interactions in which the subject is involved, which define him or her and which he or she defines.
