Director of the Milan Center of Family Therapy, Professor of Psychodynamic Theory in the University of Bergamo, Professor in the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice. He has a significant training activity in numerous psychotherapeutic and counseling institutions in Italy and abroad. He has participated in seminars, conferences, consulting and supervision sessions in multiple universities, research and therapy institutions in Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, United States, Switzerland, and United Kingdom. Abstract
In a very vivid discussion, Pietro Barbetta talks about his professional self and life, a few months after his COVID-19 illness.
Starting from his positioning and style as a therapist gives clinical examples, referring to his clients and the therapeutic setting during the nowadays COVID-19 period. He proceeds by saying a little about his style as a trainer and supervisor.
He sets fire in the discussion by posing many intriguing issues, with his passionate, sarcastic style. So, systemic therapy, social constructionism, postmodernism, Deleuze, Bateson, Shakespeare, Nietzsche, and many more thinkers offer dense food for critical thought.
Fany Triantafillou participates in the discussion with more questions and some objections (!). Adding images and some information about most of Barbetta's references, she hopes that this video-construction will become a warm invitation for further discussion.
