Abstract
The spreading of psychiatric diagnosis in children constitutes medicalization of their behavior and mainly of their resistance to discipline, in relation to education and schooling. Their devaluation, as consequence of the stigma of diagnosis, reinforces broader social processes of people’ s devaluation. The inability to recognize the children’s resistance on the part of specialists, is related with the critique of the constructivist idea of multiple self in the context of family therapy.
