Abstract

A text dedicated to Jochen Schweitzer’s contribution to acknowledging systemic therapy in Germany. The process of recognising and integrating systemic therapy into German health funds, mostly his own work, is a prime example of this persistent and uncompromising trench warfare on a sociopolitical level in which Jochen was very skillful. So, beyond the enormous scientific and social achievement of systemic therapy’s recognition as a therapeutic approach financed by German health funds, what we must see and learn is how to get into sociopolitical reality without losing our systemic quality and identity.
