Abstract

Metalogos Ed. Committee’s Comment: The collaboration with CONNESSIONI goes on. This time we host Cinzia Giordano’s paper: “Online group therapy”. In: Numero 8 (dicembre 2020).

This year the world has been overwhelmed by a catastrophic pandemic that has severely affected life and relationships. During the Covid-19 epidemic, China, Italy and later the whole world found themselves forced to activate extreme measures of social distancing to contain the pandemic. These measures went as far as the lockdown, upsetting habits and regular personal and professional practices.

We, therefore, found ourselves experimenting with new ways of working, developing online activities that were already present in our lives but very little used in the psychotherapeutic field.

So, could we go towards a creative practice that brings novelty? I wanted to see if the complex network of interactions developing within a therapy group could be managed remotely; if possible, complexity would be reduced, giving up physical presence, without loss of variety and richness of the experience.
