Lykourgos Karatzaferis

Lykourgos Karatzaferis was born at Nikoleika Aegion. Without realizing how and why he ended up studying medicine in Alexandroupolis, completed his specialization in psychiatry and a MS degree on Mental Health Promotion-Prevention of Mental Disorders. He worked five harsh years at Organisation Against Drugs and at the moment, he is member of the Social Cooperatice “Psyhi, Logos, Epi-koinonia”, where he works with groups and individuals as psychotherapist and member of Hearing Voices Network, a partnership between experts by experience and experts by profession, a network of networks, and a community of equals, founded on shared responsibility and mutual respect. He continues a never ending education at Athenian Institute of Anthropos (AIA) which uses a Systemic - Dialectic Psychosocial Approach according to which “Anthropos”, is conceptualized αs α biopsychosocial, open, information-processing, decision-making, Anotropic System. AIA along with his neighborhood at Nikoleika and with some people at Leros’ Psychiatric Hospital  and the 9th Psychiatric Department of Psychiatric Hospital in Athens actually taught him how to talk and learn,...

Abstract

Within the fear and suspicions,

with a turbulent mind and frightened eyes,

we melt and plan what to do,

to avoid the certain

danger, which threatens us horribly.

And yet we are mistaken, it is no danger in the way

fake were the messages

(or we didn’t listen to them, or we didn’t feel them well).

A different disaster, which we could not have imagined,

Sudden, rapidly falling on us,

finding us unprepared – no more time – overwhelming us.
